This is my favourite book series - and I read a lot of series across a wide range of genres. I'm on my third reread and still loving it. The point of my review though is that I honestly believe that to get the most out of the series, you should listen to the audiobooks. The narration of Zara Ramm is simply superb. She captures the tone perfectly. Do it. You won't regret it.

This was definitely not what I was expecting! Got off to a very slow start that had me close to calling DNF.
But toward the middle the story picked up and I was engrossed. Then it took a right turn into open door intimacy that was a bit off putting and most definitely unrealistic.
The final third was like reading an entirely different story. And that made it worth the read.
Will I continue with the series? Yes. Will I be disappointed if it devolves into crude language and s*xual content again. Most definitely. Leave it to the imagination of the reader please!

First of all: This book is just not for me. Which means: You have any chance of loving it.
I got it recommended by a friend who did listen to the audiobook.
The idea itself of time travel being use to "prove" things have/have not happened is amazing. I loved it, the recherche about different times the character did go through. I guess I just haven't been particularly into the specific times they went to. Which is a total me thing. At around 50% in I got kinda lost and things did not seem to add up to me. There have been things interesting enough for me to finish the book but sadly I am not hooked to explore this series any further.

I am hooked. This story was fun, if not dangerous, romp through history. The characters are interesting and there is a lot to be learned. I can't wait to jump into the next story.
