The most concise thing I can say about this is that it's fun, but not particularly good. I found myself frequently going, "Huh? Why?" If you read this not expecting anything, you'll probably have a somewhat good time. I like the concept, being a history loving nerd. But the character work is terrible. Characters frequency do or say things completely out of nowhere. Things that there was no hint of anywhere before. It did make me laugh, so there's that. I don't know. It's fun if you overlook all its flaws.

The plot was disjointed and unevenly paced, and I think I missed a lot of the history and/or British references. But it was really a fun read and also LOL funny at times. Also, such a great title. I'll be continuing the series for sure.

I listened to this on audiobook and maybe that was a bad choice. The narrator just was so matter of fact about everything, during the sex scene. I literally had to stop and realize that I was listening to a sex scene because she read it like she was talking about somebody making a sandwich
