This book is even better than Tunnels. You get to know more about the characters, and it's surprising how they all react in a very different way to what is happening. I absolutely love Elliot; it was about time to have a strong female character (don't misunderstand, I love Sarah, but she's a whole other story). For some reason, I got too attached to Cal... and I cried like a baby when he died. My opinion of Chester changed so much, that I don't think I like him anymore.
The ending of this book left me in some kind of cliffhanger, and I need like air the next part.

Could be shorter tbh

I finally just skimmed the last 100 pages of this book. It really was a difficult book to stay involved in. There were too many different sub plots, too many different characters, and too much time spent "wandering" around in the depths. I don't think I will pick up any more in this series, as I just got to the point of "why do I care?". I am disappointed as this seemed to have some great potential of a series....but I am on to other books and will donate these as I have no desire to re-read them, which is unusual for me. For those that really enjoyed the book, I am glad for you.

Oh man. So I don't usually go for young adult fiction, and I certainly would never have picked this book up if I hadn't received a copy to review, but it's freakin' awesome!!!

Adventure, geekfest, biological warfare, good vs evil, deceit, the possibility of a whole civilization (of religious extremists!) living underground...what's not to love???

Awesome awesome awesome!

I'll try this another time. It might be me, but I was quickly bored - too much time spent on dumb conversations and 'scene setup'. That disappointed me because most of the first one was so exciting and I couldn't put it down.
