Such a fun, entertaining book! Had me rooting for the main guy all the way through! Reminded me of why I love John Grisham.
I felt like this was a good story but at the same time a let down. There is huge build up about the trial and then it ends how you thought it would. There was a moment where I thought they stood a chance but nope. In my opinion not a page turner.
easy read. all these grisham books are making me feel like i'm a lawyer.
Gave up, couldn't finish. It just didn't grab me and keep me interested.
A good novel. Definitely all about and only about lawyers, law, courtrooms and everything that goes with it. The main character is likable, although somewhat unbelievable. Leaving a big firm, the way he ends up at the two-pop-shop and other aspects about the beginning of this book are almost too far-fetched for me. Keep reading though... it does get better!
I actually found this entertaining. A nice read that I was able to breeze through 1/2 of on a plane ride. The greed shown here is very relatable and the "law firm" that is the man focus of this story seems to be one everyone has known. How they stay in business and don't get disbarred is beyond me, but they are everywhere and they plod along by the skin of their teeth hoping to will the "lawyer lottery" as written about in this book.
The characters are well flushed out, the plot is interesting and moves along quick enough to keep your attention and the actual story, for the most part, seems quite realistic. If you like Grisham or you like books about lawyers I would recommend this book, otherwise I would say don't bother. It was good, but if those are not your interests, it's not good enough to spend time on.

Despite being a lawyer myself, this is the first Grisham novel I can recall ever reading. I really, really enjoyed it. The story was engaging, the characters completely believable, and the narration excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be picking up more Grisham soon.
I love [a:John Grisham|721|John Grisham|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/authors/1349988328p2/721.jpg]'s writing style so much that I'd probably purchase a book of his shopping lists to read. That was until I read [b:The Litigators|11600163|The Litigators|John Grisham|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1320434601s/11600163.jpg|16542344]. I can't even remember what it was about, other than knowing John Grisham, it was about some underdog fighting the legal system, blah blah, I tuned out, and not soon enough it was the END. I'm just happy i finished it!

Read like a fictionalization of a real case vs. a novel. Blah.
