I love reading books written by John Grisham. His style of writing somehow captivates me every time. This particular novel had me giggling every so often. The characters were fun and so vastly different. Excellent read!

As much as I want to force myself to like the book, I didn't. The plot had very good point in the story when it could have been a great twist, but the story just ended with such a disappointment.

This is a fun book and a great reflection of the reality in the legal world.

didn't hold my attention - put it aside to read another book.

I absolutely loved this book. The commentary about the good, the bad, and the ugly of tort litigation was highly interesting with the Better Call Saul-esque story painting an entertaining picture of life as a street lawyer. David Zinc as a character was highly moral, encouraging, honest, and funny. The senior and junior partners of Finley & Figg were so well done and while morally gray, they begged sympathy and tough love from the reader. This book was so entertaining and I could not put it down. On a personal level, grappling with the ethical questions of the legal system and being a lawyer has been a challenge and this book helped me see different sides of that. Grisham shows in this book a hard criticism of tort litigation and greed, while also showing a bright spot in caring for others and practicing for the benefit of people who need it. If you have any interest in law or the schemes and trial scenes from Better Call Saul, read this book. Also, it is absolutely hilarious!!

I love John Grisham and all of his works, but this one was a little simplistic for me. I kept waiting for that signature twist near the end and it never happened. The writing seemed a little weak, but the story was good. It would make a great beach read.

I really liked the beginning and end of this book but got a bit bored in the middle part. Really enjoyed the characters.

Grisham's books have seemed to me to be too technical for pleasure yet they have been categorically fiction. It was a surprise to find this to be the exception, as the book was less technical and provided more pleasure than any others I have read of his.
