I normally HATE books about law, but Grisham is really good about striking the balance between informative and snoozefest. Plus, I really enjoyed the language. I expected not to finish it, and instead found I didn't want to put it down.

It wasn't a great read, but I got through it, some parts are very amusing.

It's not like any of his first novels, with a complex plot, this one is pretty straightforward and simple.

It has never taken me this long to read a John Grisham book. I actually put it down and read 3 or 4 other books before I came back to finish it. It starts off great then quickly goes down hill. I would have been happy to ready the first few chapters and then skipped to the last 100 pages. I don't think I would have finished it if I didn't feel compelled to just because I have read all his other books. After his last two I'm wondering if I will keep up that record.

I wrote about this book on my blog - http://804-notassigned.blogspot.com/2011/12/spooky-little-girl-like-you.html

Not my favorite John Grisham...somewhat disappointed

Great read. You always want to compare Grisham's books to The Firm, which I would give SIX stars at the minimum. The Lititgators doesn't have the highest of stakes, but Grisham still keeps you turning the page. He's a master at that, and like Jodi Picoult teaches you something about obscure but interesting facets of life, Grisham always teaches you something new about some facet of the law. Loved it.

I am mixed on how to review this book. I think that John Grisham ranks up there with Scott Turow as "best writer of the courtroom drama" nominees. And this is a well-written courtroom drama BUT
it is completely predictable. Not a little predictable. As in: no twists or turns at all.
. And that is not what I expect from a well-written Grisham book. So three stars because the characters are interesting and it is well-written and the law-related procedure parts are well-done. Given the plot, though, I can't give it four stars.

By the by, this is the most oddly shaped paperback. Very tall and thin in width. Sort of like a 500 page Zagats.
emotional slow-paced

Fun. A good story that didn’t come to the expected end. I liked it. The story moved along rapidly. A good time.
