This was surprisingly hilarious, and also filled with the ire of every salty underfunded medical researcher and overworked doctor, which I found very relatable.
The world and magic system was interesting but you can kind of tell that the author got her start in fanfiction, because a lot of the characters aren’t super fleshed out. I’m really looking forward to her future works, though.

Love the banter! Such a slow burn on the romance but the banter made it so good for me. I'm definitely going to listen to the audio. This is probably a book I can re-read. I found myself rooting for them to help each other and for things to work out. It's going to be tough to wait for book 2.
