the QUEEN of mystery has... let me down.
to be fair, the book is about 100 years old. I bet this story was pretty rivetting in 1926.
I said this before but, I am not a fan of mysteries / thrillers where the reader has to compose theories that are based on lies or an unreliable narrator lol. in this book, the characters that are interrogated about Roger's murder are all lying about something until about page 250.
I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone other than Agatha Christie superfans and I will not be reading again.

I was not familiar with her game, but now I see you, Agatha Christie. I get why you are the queen of mystery.
To be honest, it was a bit tough to digest since it was written in 1926. Some words and references completely threw me off, and I had to check the Kindle dictionary a few times. The twists are clever, the tension is sharp, and you can feel how it paved the way for so many mystery writers that came after.

Absolutely amazing wow, I think this might be my favourite Christie. I had my suspicions on the killer pretty early on but that did not take away anything from the book. Definitely recommend it
HOW? i’m floored.
this is the definition of a 5 star book. i couldn’t put it down. she’s so incredible at peppering in all the little necessary details to make an extraordinary reveal at the end and you never see it coming. funny enough, i did get the idea for who the killer actually was before the reveal but i didn’t think it was actually possible. and i also suspected pretty much everyone at some point so it’s not saying much.
