A dark and whimsicle tale. Reminded me of a cross between the short film 9 and the borrowers with some Lord of the Flies mixed in for good measure. I read it in an hour and will probably reread. People that enjoy dark fantasy will like this. I want it to continue but also understand it is an allegory and should not be expected to go on longer than it has.

I like the trope of dark themes combines with cute art styles, and the contrasting scenes with realistic art also work well. This book has all the makings of something really great with the metaphorical nature of the characters and an unflinching look at the dark side of childhood innocence, but just doesn’t quite hit the mark. Seems like it needed a few more chapters and a little clarity

Probably one of the most disturbing graphic novels I've read. While the artwork is lovely the subject matter was too dark and disturbing for me.

Honestly the juxtaposition of a cute art style and a horror plot has got to be one of my favorite genres for sure..
My theory is that the girl died and is most likely the shed man's  daughter (as it looked like he had some things that would belong to a little girl in his house and there were a bunch of bottles around the room so it looked like he wasn't doing all that well) and the different characters/faeries? That we see are parts of her 'personality'. Aurora  most likely being closest to her true self as they shared the same name. Timothy representing her insecurity and the crazy/feral one (I forgot her name...) represents her instinctive need to survive and so on and so forth.. Anyway really really fun!!

This book made me audibly gasp. It was so devastating. A reflection or a warning? You decide.

The juxtaposition of effed up actions and such cute faces is jarring. This is thought provoking about human nature but not really enjoyable. The scenery is very cute.
