Got boring. Plus too many characters that were not interesting. Like 5 or 6 introduced within the first 100 pages then even more after? Could not care less.

I freaking hate Morgan and the agency he works for.

After reading some reviews, I both disagree and agree with several readers' opinions.

I agree that Sallinger perhaps focuses more on the sexual attraction between Cassius and Morgan than I prefer because it interrupts the momentum, but I disagree that Sallinger overdid it because there are plenty of action scenes to keep the plot moving.

I'm also amongst the group that hates the "soul mate" trope, and this book, unfortunately, has that in SPADES. However, Salinger makes it more palatable because all of the fallen angels in the story have no memories before they fell, and the mystery of their pasts makes the fated-lovers cliche more interesting.

Unlike some others, I also didn't mind the large cast of side characters. They were alright.

The one thing I really dislike though is that the two MCs seem to be way too powerful, which often makes the story feel less suspenseful to me. It's unlikely that anyone's in real danger of losing a fight.

Overall, it's okay enough although a bit rough of a read.

My preferred type of romance story starts with a dash of antagonism between the potential partners and evolves into a good partnership. This book definitely fits the parameters. Cassius and Morgan have great chemistry and a slightly antagonistic introduction. I enjoyed watching their relationship evolve, and I am looking forward to seeing what the rest of the books in the series have in store for them.

The narration by Alex Kydd was nicely done, and I enjoyed his voice. Both he and the author did a great job of ensuring that the reader knows which character is speaking and whose perspective is being conveyed.

Jumping into the next story already.
