This book follows Dylan Bailey a tennis pro who can’t seem to win a grand slam and is always runner up and Oliver Anderson a tennis pro who loves the sport but his heart isn’t in the competition anymore. I greatly enjoyed this book watching Dylan and Oliver form an unlikely friendship yet somehow they were exactly what the other person needed. Watching them learn and evolve as people both together and separately while doing their best to show up for each other was my favorite part of this book. I also appreciated that while it focused on tennis I was still interested in the story and what the characters were experiencing. While I don’t think having a working knowledge is necessary to understand and enjoy this book I do feel that it did hinder my ability to be fully immersed in the book as some technical terms or even the scoring system were unfamiliar to me.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Collin’s Audio for the ALC.

The book was fine. There was nothing that really stood out to me. It was nice having a tennis sports romance so I did enjoy that aspect of it and that the focal point was heavily the sport. I did enjoy Dylan and Oliver, their relationship but the bits with Brooke and Avery got one every one of my last nerves. It was a good light hearted read and the narrators did a good job.
I received this book as ALC thanks to Netgalley and HarperAudio but all opinions are my own.

Yay, tennis romance enjoyers rejoice! If you're like me and seeking more sports romances where both partners are athletes, you'll enjoy this one. The tennis was well done and pretty accurate, which I think my fellow tennis lovers will appreciate. The romance was lovely, featuring a fiery female lead and a sweet main male character. I loved seeing these two grow; they learn how to support each other beautifully on and off the court! I can't wait to read more from Meg Jones!
I also really enjoyed the audiobook - the narrators really breathe life into this story. It was really fun to hear the accents! I especially enjoyed Mary Jane Wells' narration.
Thank you so much to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy of the eARC and audiobook in exchange for an honest review!

Game Point was cute and my first book about tennis! I loved Dylan and Oliver's characters and enjoyed watching Dylan evolve. I appreciated how this is an interconnected standalone (I'm looking forward to reading Scottie and Nico's story) and how the author mentioned a giant spider, giving a nod to how everything in Australia is scary and can kill you. I liked how this book showed a competent athlete struggling with her sport and how the people you surround yourself with can affect your mindset. Oliver and Dylan's friendship evolution was sweet to follow and the air mattress bit was all too relatable. All in all, Game Point is a solid sports romance that does the black cat x golden retriever trope justice. And yes for showcasing female athletes!!
Because I have no idea how tennis is scored and have only watched it once, I was confused during the play-by-plays, but I love how someone who is into this sport could probably follow along. Meg Jones wrote good spice and I wanted more of it.
I was chatting with a bookstagram friend about how we couldn't tell this book was written by an author in the UK. It didn't feel that way and that's good because this book didn't take place there.
Thank you so much for the ARC! I look forward to reading Clean Point (need Scottie and Nico's backstory!) and the next book in the series.

5 STARS — 6 if I could give it!
Thank you to NetGalley, Avon, and Harper Voyager for the opportunity to read and review an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This was my first time reading a book by Meg Jones, and now I have to go back and pick up the first book in the series—because this was absolutely incredible. The story isn’t just about a woman trying to win tennis matches—it’s about everything: friendship, family, homesickness, burnout, toxic relationships, and what a truly good and loving relationship can look like. It was powerful, honest, and beautifully written.
Dylan was such a cool and compelling character to follow. Having grown up in a competitive space myself, I completely related to what she was feeling—though I saw myself more in Oliver, who understood when to step back. Both Dylan and Oliver experienced so much character growth, and their friendship felt deeply authentic. Their relationship? So unbelievably sweet, and the romantic scenes were absolute perfection—chef’s kiss.
Also, having just come back from the UK, I found myself really appreciating the world-building. I don’t usually comment on setting, but every place they visited felt so vivid and unique. It made the whole experience even more immersive and honestly felt like I was there again.
Truly, this is one of the best five-star reads I’ve had in a while. Everything about it was a 10/10. Thank you again, NetGalley and Avon/Harper Voyager, for the ARC!

received an ALC from netgalley, thank you for the copy!
my first tennis book! I loved the narration by Will Watt and Mary Jane Wells. very funny intro bit as well about the book being written in UK english so americans shouldn't be scared if a word is spelled a different way.
story was great and I loved the progression of dylan and oliver's relationship.they were so cute in the early stages of their friendship when they watched twilight together... true bonding activities right there.
i'm very attached to the two characters and this tennis world. i'll have to read/listen to the previous book in the game, set, and match series.

Thanks to HarperAudio Adult and NetGalley for the advance listener copy! I really enjoyed this book! Dylan and Oliver were believable characters with flaws and great character development. I enjoyed the tennis and competition aspects of the book. My favorite part was that they developed a deep friendship before their intimate relationship began. I also loved their honesty with each other and their feelings. Highly recommend!
