Game Point by Meg Jones is a friends-to-lovers tennis romance and oh so wonderful! It is book #2 in the Game, Set, and Match series and narration was performed by Will Watt and Mary Jane Wells. Dylan has been chasing a Grand Slam trophy for years but always seems to come up just short. Oliver is recently divorced and settled in his career as a tennis pro, however he is not finding the passion for the game that he used to have. I really loved Dylan and Oliver’s friendship and connection and how their relationship develops throughout the book, on and off the court! It never felt too rushed or like insta-love, just real. I enjoyed how the author explored mental health in athletes and portrayal of women in sports and the media. The narrators really brought this book to life and did an amazing job with varying accents. I have loved both books in this series and need more ASAP!!!

Thank you to NetGalley, HarperAudio Adult, and the author for this ALC

I have so many words to say about this book, because I’m obsessed with this tennis romance series. It’s so fun, I love the girls rivalry and friendship as it deepens with every book, and seeing Dylan go from a villian in the first book to the main character in book 2, I knew I’d be rushing to read this one! Dylan always chokes in competitions, she has a mental block that prevents her from winning any major competition and I love seeing her fight to conqueror this issue using different coaches, friends, and therapy techniques. It was refreshing seeing a main lead really take on and use counseling sessions, while also not making it the main focus, it’s just something to be done.

Oliver is looking to retire and become a coach and he isn’t willing to let Dylan give up just yet on her tennis career so he sets off to Australia to make her take him on as a coach, mostly because he believes in her, but he’s also the one that pushes her in a healthy way. I love friends to lovers, where the book starts off when they develop such a good friendship and it turns into so much more. That’s what happens with Oliver and Dylan.

I also loved seeing Scottie and Nico so much, especially as she developed a friendship with Dylan and helped her overcome some issues. These two are going to develop an amazing friendship as the series goes on and I hope to see it slightly in the next book!

I don’t know why more people aren’t reading or talking about Meg Jones because her tennis romances are the perfect blend of humor and steam amidst an elite athlete world. I loved Clean Point and may love Game Point even more.

Dylan Bailey has something prove. She’s the best of the best in women’s tennis but chokes in finals, never clinching a win for herself. She knows it, the whole world gossips about it, and Oliver Anderson might be one of the few other people who can understand what it’s like to be in that position. Dylan’s redemption story takes her from angry and lonely to someone who is secure in herself and strong enough to withstand negative competition. I’m not even sure how she does it, but Jones manages to write what seems like an entire lifetime into 416 pages, from one of Dylan’s major losses to finding a friend in Oliver to taking her from jaded and jilted to the strongest FMC around.

I think that’s what I loved so much was seeing this evolution of friends to lovers (with some coaching thrown in). It felt like an honor to get to see Dylan and Oliver interact and their love for each other seemed inevitable coming off the back of a really strong friendship. I smiled so much reading this book that my face hurt, not that I minded in the least. It’s that feeling from wanting two characters to fall fast and hard and deep for each other—that all-consuming chemistry that just makes perfect sense for best friends to be the best of lovers. Meg Jones writes delicious open door intimacy scenes and also knows how to ease the pressure of these scenes with humor. I mean Dylan breaks the damn shower head because she’s so preoccupied with thoughts of Oliver! And Oliver, oh Oliver, he meets the challenge of Dylan head on and allows her to be herself, a strong-willed woman, but that’s doesn’t diminish his desire en strength.

Let me not forget the tennis portion of the book either. I felt the competitiveness, the drive and the rigorous schedule of these elite athletes who are all alphas, after the prize of winning. But there’s room for growth and room for enjoying the sport knowing you may never be in this peak position again. I can honestly say I’d read a thousand more tennis romances by Meg Jones and probably never get tired of them. Thanks to @avonbooks for my early copy. All opinions are my own.

I had the opportunity to listen to this audiobook, and at first I was a little apprehensive—I thought the narrators’ accents might throw me off because I tend to get very into them. 😅 But once my ears adjusted, I had no trouble following along, and honestly, the performance was fantastic.

The book itself is both hilarious and sexy. The narrators really brought Dylan and Oliver to life, giving so much personality to their characters. The chemistry between them was undeniable, even when they tried to keep their boundaries in place.

I loved how their relationship developed: he helped her get out of her own way, and she helped him find the love he once thought he lost. It felt natural, heartfelt, and satisfying.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book—great banter, swoony romance, and a performance that made me laugh and blush in equal measure. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a fun, steamy sports romance in audio!

I feel like I've been reading a lot of sports romance lately and i liked this a lot. I think because there are not a lot of tennis romance i have read and i like reading about the mechanics of tennis as someone that is new to the sports. The fmc is a tennis player while the mmc who transitioned from a tennis player to a coach. The dynamics between the main characters was fun i loved the friends to lovers dynamic and the banter. The romance between the mc's is a slow burn and i liked seeing them go from friends to lovers. There are steamy scenes and lots of forced proximity the character development was also nice to see especially for the fmc. Overall if you like sports romance and want a different sports from the usual this is a good read. Thanks to Avon for this arc.

Game Point is so freaking adorable! This was my first tennis sport romance and it did not disappoint. The way the book flowed and the slow-burn is what I love about these books.

Dylan and Oliver is what I dream to have 😍 Oliver makes Dylan a better version of herself and how to cope with mental blocks. She helps Oliver find what he truly needed to be.

“Brat” is a new favorite term. IYKYK 😉

The spice was minimal but top tier as their love unraveled together and not realizing.

Such a fun and cute sports romance story about tennis! This was a slow burn, with some amazingly funny banter between characters but the real star were both narrators. The way they read the story, really brought the characters to live and made the entire experience immersive. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a good time with some excellent dual narrators!
