An absolute delight. More than the plot, I just loved spending time with these characters. I missed them as soon as the book ended
3.5/4 okokokokok listen the characters were cool and i liked the writing style but I wish it went more in depth bc I didn’t get a chance to really love the characters except for Astrid, who, btw, deserves the entire world she’s my main one xoxo
Lovely. Some loose ends are never tied up, we never hear Birdie’s side of the story, but it’s still an enjoyable read of an ordinary family, as dysfunctional as the rest of us.

I enjoyed reading this book; Straub is a good writer. But I ended up feeling as though it was all too neat and tidy, or, rather, what we used to call when I was young "white bread"--bland and just a bit too sweet.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars
I loved everything about this book! The characters, the various plot points, ALL. OF. IT.
Emma Straub is a new-to-me author that is quickly becoming a favorite.
I need this book to become a miniseries.
