An extremely well written screenplay, it was enjoyable to have one of my favourite movies unfold in a written form.

Watching the movie is sublime, but when reading the screenplay you get a lot more information and a deep understanding. It is also very obvious how alex decide to omit a lot of the explicative info, in order to let the audience figure it out. I loved the explanations and vivid descriptions of the screenplay, it makes the movie come to life by just reading it

Fantastic script. I wanted to read Caleb and Ava’s conversations through text. The tension was still there which was great. Garland is a novelist turned filmmaker, which explains the depth to his films and the excellent dialogue. His projects mix drama with real science and existential philosophy.

Ex-Machina and Devs (/Deus) are some of my favourite pieces of TV/film these last few years. Oh and I see what he did there— “Deus Ex-Machina”. The combined title between projects makes even more sense if you’ve seen Devs.
