The sequel to [b:Go the Fuck to Sleep|11192642|Go the Fuck to Sleep|Adam Mansbach|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1342861907s/11192642.jpg|16117490].
I got this free from Audible. It was narrated by Dave Hughes, who did a great job.
I giggled all the way through. A picture book for adults. It's written in the style of [b:Time for Bed|835495|Time for Bed|Mem Fox|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1347387574s/835495.jpg|400452] but about eating, and with lots of swearing.

Cute in the same way that the first book is cute. Kids are terrible fickle monsters.

These books are cute but the concept is losing it's appeal.

This is as good as the first one; maybe even a teensy bit better. A lot of this is my life!

My favorite stanza:

You're not finished, and no, you can't go to school

In pajamas, a hat, and bare feet.

Whatever, put shoes on and bring me your plate,

My whole diet's the shit you won't eat.

This is a cute children’s picture book that is a spin-off of the author’s other book Go the F*ck to Sleep”, which reflects the challenges that parents encounter when trying to get their toddlers / kids to eat.

I loved the first book, Go the Fuck to Sleep, but felt like the second one just fell apart. Not even Stephen Fry and Bryan Cranston editions of the audiobook can quite save it. Yes, as others have mentioned, it's just the same joke, but with that title, I expected as much. That's not really the problem though. The problem is that the rhyming scheme breaks up too much and too early. A little of that would have been fine and been a good way to portray the rising anger. Sadly, instead it just seemed more like laziness.

My daughter is a surprisingly non-picky eater, listing tuna sushi among her favorite foods, but I have faced the utter mystery of the full lunch box--"How was school, hon? Whoa, your lunch box is full. How are you not passed out in the street? How is it you're smart? How the hell are you growing when you basically don't fucking eat?"

I also loved the "My whole diet's the shit you won't eat," as I very much ended up eating rejected food when my daughter was a toddler. Bryan Cranston's performance is funny and pitch-perfect. There's seriously no reason not to grab this gem while it's free on Audible.

I preferred Go the Fuck to Sleep. This is just more of the same.
