Unsettling and inconsistent? I do think this is very insightful if youre trying to understand a "sociopathic" perspective. I enjoyed her coming to terms with it story and all that she became, but also resented how juvenile and emotional she behaved. Some of it did feel a bit like not taking accountability and putting the blame of sociopathic tendencies on society for upholding a status quo. I felt she was using this identifying factor as her only identifying factor and I don't think she actually learned anything despite the few times she experiences growth. I also suspect more and more people are sociopathic today it's an interesting topic for sure especially regarding it being altered/removed from the DSM. It's certainly not taken as seriously as antisocial personality disorder and seems to be more of a proclamation.

An interesting memoir about Patric Gagne's experiences as a sociopath, including her studies into the disorder. It is sad that there isn't more information, more treatment options, and more help for sociopaths who want those things. She mentions a few times that there is a spectrum for sociopathic disorders, which made me curious to learn more. As with so many mental health diagnoses, sociopathy should not be stigmatized and ignored or villainized.
