Breakable by Tammara Webber

The first thing I want to point out is that this is not Easy re-written. I'm going to guess that Tammara Webber read Beautiful Disaster and it's sequel, Walking Disaster, and tried to devise a way to do it better. She succeed- To an enormous degree. Breakable is phenomenal. It does assume that you've already read Easy, so I suggest that any readers new to the story start there. In a way though, (at least in my opinion) Breakable is a better book. I've read all of Webber's novels now and she seems to get better with every one. Breakable is complex and intense. She allows us to see into Lucas's past and what made him the way he is. It was so interesting to read this because while I knew how the story would ultimately end, I had no idea what was coming next. This was undoubtedly Lucas's story and Webber told it as such. I loved the extra scenes she threw in after Jacqueline and Lucas were a couple. It was great to seem their relationship grow stronger before the flash forward to Lucas's graduation.

I don't really know how to continue with this review because I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed the book and I'm pretty terrible at doing anything but being a jerk and ripping bad books apart so I'm going to end this by telling you all that I'm not sure whether this is a 4 or a 5 star rating. I REALLLLLY want to give it a 5, but I think I'm so mad that the story is over that I can't. So only 4 stars for you Tammara because you could have made this book twice as long some how and didn't. I'm inexplicably angry that Lucas and Jacqueline's stories are done and that Tammara doesn't have another book to anticipate.

GIVE ME ANOTHER BOOK, TAMMARA (any book)! NOW! ARE YOU WRITING RIGHT THIS SECOND?! YOU SHOULD BEEEE!

Unbreakable is divided into two stories. The first a prequel on Landon and his life right after the events of his of his mother to right before leaving with Heller for college. The season is Lucas POV from "Easy"

The prequel involving Landon was somewhat dry for me. Had trouble trying to focus during these parts, but at time there were some interesting parts. Also it shows why how why is the way he is in "Easy". As for Lucas' POV in the book from "Easy", I adored reading this (there something about reading the same book, but from a guys perspective that I love. I was the same way towards "Walking Disaster"). Yes it is the same story as read from "Easy" but with a few added scenes. Over all favorite part of the book was this.

I thought this book was really well done! I love the way she re-told Easy through Lucas's eyes but also told the story of what had happened to him growing up.

I loved the way she re-told the parts with Jacqueline. It didn't at all feel like a mirrored story to what had been read in [b:Easy|16056408|Easy (Contours of the Heart, #1)|Tammara Webber|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1349370267s/16056408.jpg|19113823] at all. She skimmed over it enough so it wasn't repetitive but reviewed it enough that if it had been a little while since you read Jacqueline's story, you'd have a quick reminder.

I thought this book was well written. I thoroughly enjoyed it!!

I have had this book on my kindle for a long time, I never wanted to read it, but I also wanted to have it because it was the sequel to one of my favorite books, Easy. I am not a fan of POV swapped retellings, but after rereading Easy, I decided to give this book a chance and I. can't. even!!

It was a retelling but it wasn't. It gave me so much more than Easy, but still gave me the feels like Easy, just in different ways. I got Landon's story and Lucas' thoughts. It was everything I never thought I needed, but after the end, I can't believe I didn't read it sooner.

I definitely recommend reading this after Easy so it is better to follow along like I did, unless you have a super memory and can recall everything in the exact same order (and I'd like to say I am totally jealous of that memory, I could probably plan my own surprise party because my memory is so bad).

Definitely give this book a chance and read it after Easy, even if you do not like POV swapped books, this one is not like any I have ever read, it was everything!

If you think this book will be boring because it's the first book told in his point of view, you'd be sorely mistaken. It might have been if that's all it was, but luckily we also get an insight into Lucas/Landon's life before Jacqueline. This book just makes me fall in love with him and their story even more.

This is an exact retelling of Easy with Lucas' life after his mother dies meshed in. It switches from Lucas' and Landon's pov. I liked that aspect, bc you get to understand Lucas better. What I didn't like is that the ending was almost the exact same. We already knew where Jacqueline and Lucas ended up after he graduates, couldn't we have gotten a prologue a few years down the road?? That would have been more emotionally satisfying to me. 4 stars.

I've owned this one for a while but was hesitant to crack it open. I knew I would either love it or not.

For me, I was completely sucked into the 1st book - and I think I liked some of the mystery of Lucas.

First read: May 2014

"Some things aren't worth the pain, whether you can survive it or not."

"There's no right or wrong way to be a survivor, Jacqueline. There's no script."

Oh man, this books was beautiful!
"Easy" is in my top 5 of favorite books and I was so excited when I found out about this book.

I basically fell in love with Landon Lucas Maxfield all over again ♥

"Everyone isn't logical. Everything doesn't make sense in the end. Sometimes you have to forget about explanations or excuses and leave people and places behind, because they will drag you straight down."

I guess I expected something a little different. I honestly wanted more Lucas and less Landon. There were moments of slight boredom and insignificance. The editing was awkward and if you haven't read Easy, don't even attempt to read this. You'll be lost and confused. I still ended up enjoying this POV reversal, just not as much as I hoped.
