I go back and fourth with rating this book a 3-4 star book. I ultimately decided that I would give the rating four stars as I really could not put this book down. However, I wish that we got more on the happy ever after of Adeline and Zade. I am not sure I enjoy the way the book ended after the entire series foreshadowed things such as their future together, family, etc. I definitely can understand how this is a difficult read for some, but the trigger warnings are there, and definitely do not take them lightly. Overall, the second book was way better than the first, but again, not sure I’m 100% impressed.

Cried my eyes out in the beginning but laughed my ass off when they went hunting! I still think there is something mentally wrong with me for wanting a stalker like Zade ❤️

This book is dark and hardcore. Addie and Zade return and even more Darkness is shared between them, Trigger Warning! Please read with caution if you are not prepared to read dark topics surrounding SA, Sex trafficking and abuse. This story is a-lot more intense than the first. Im glad I finished this duo-logy and was able to find out how Adeline’s Story ends.

Calling all "Haunting Adeline" fans! "Hunting Adeline" by HD Carlton is a must read for you after Haunting, the thrilling sequel wrapping up Zade and Addy's adventure. Keep those trigger warnings in mind; this book delves into heavy themes, so buckle up. But if you're ready for the ride, get ready to be emotionally rocked. Intense and dark, this sequel takes suspense up a notch, though be aware that the first half could challenge those triggers. As the finale of the Cat and Mouse Duet, the tension skyrockets as Addy faces danger and hidden truths. We get the dual POV from the fist book which is awesome because I always want more Zaddy in my life. HD Carlton's immersive writing thrusts you into the fray, ensuring a satisfying conclusion despite the darkness. To sum it up, "Hunting Adeline" is a deep dive into darkness, self-discovery, and justice—get ready for an unforgettable journey.

First of all, this book is definitely not for everyone. Before you decide to read Haunting Adeline or Hunting Adeline, PLEASE read the trigger warnings first!! This is a VERY dark romance, so please keep that in mind! I definitely have to say that this book was way darker than the first & I did not expect a lot of it.

The story starts off immediately where the first book ends.. This book takes place over several months filled with dark and REALLY disturbing events that Addie had to go through– it was honestly so hard for me to read this book all in one go. I kept having to take breaks because of how graphic and descriptive the scenes were. That’s how well-written this book was, it literally brought tears to my eyes & really had me feel the pain the characters had to go through.

Zade Meadows is absolutely hands down 100% my FAVE book boyfriend!! This man would literally walk through a burning building just to get his girl back and I absolutely love it. Addie & Zade are honestly the best couple ever & I love how they just fit together. Thinking back to the beginning of the first book and comparing how Addie’s character was, she has grown sooo much in terms of her confidence and just how she is as a person.

H.D. Carlton did an AMAZING job with this duet & I’m so sad it’s over now. I cannot wait to read more of her other books! I will forever recommend this book to anyone who can handle reading dark romances such as this one.
