The concept is fresh, it's great being read to by N.P.H and Simon Vance, and it was overall entertaining. I am unsure if the tips were accurate but it was believable.
There is some dark humor, a set of rules to go by, a few twists and turns, and a few good lessons, and the style the story was written was neat. I didn’t hate the story, but I didn’t love it either!

A fantastic first draft, a poor novel.
In the first half, you will follow a reluctant protagonist as he eventually accepts a fate thrust on him by the author and a near omnipresent secret school.
In the second half, you are kept on the sideline as the author shows you how clever their setup & reveals are. The first time is a trick, but by the 7th time it is beyond old.
Everyone gets a happy ending, no matter how little they earned it nor how much it makes sense. Internal consistency is a suggestion.

DNF. It’s the first time I’ve ever abandoned a book because I hated the font. I also wasn’t super into the voice, but I would’ve stuck with it if the font didn’t give me a headache.

This is a fire concept for a book. The character names are amazing. The plot is ingenious. Even the setup of the book is great! It reads as an educational manual.
Terms:
- deletion = murder
- executive = victim
- executor = listener/sponsor
- deletist = person deemed capable and worthy to commit murder or who has successfully murdered after training at the conservatory
- homicidalist = person who has successfully murdered without training at the conservatory
- enemy = policy, attorneys, and forensic analysts who are not secretly part of the conservatory
Sanctioned Homicide Questions to Ask Oneself:
1. Is this murder necessary?
2. Have you given your target every chance to redeem themselves?
3. What innocent person might suffer by your actions?
4. Will this deletion improve the life of others?
Teaser:
Welcome to The McMasters Conservatory for the Applied Arts - a luxurious, clandestine college dedicated to the fine art of murder where earnest students study how best to "delete" their most deserving victim. Who hasn't wondered for a split second what the world would be like if the object of your affliction ceased to exist? But then you've probably never heard of The McMasters Conservatory, dedicated to the consummate execution of the homicidal arts. The campus of this "Poison Ivy League" college is where you might find yourself the practice target of a classmate, and where one's mandatory graduation thesis is getting away with the perfect murder of someone whose death will make the world a much better place to live.
Prepare for an education you'll never forget.
“By all means commit murder, but not by all means.”

Period of the book wasn’t what I expected. It was very wordy.
I thought this one was pretty funny and a really fun read. The premise caught my eye as comical, and though I had a guess as to how Cliff and Gemma’s stories each might end, I enjoyed the adventure, twists, and turns it took to get there. I liked the three main characters very much and found myself rooting for their successes along the way. The first half was slow moving, but then it really picks up and I found myself flying through the second half of the book. I appreciated that it was a unique premise (at least among books I’ve read). And since I’m not the biggest fan of mystery and murder, I was pleasantly surprised that this book approached those topics with thought and humor.
