Woa!
The beginning was slow but after forcing myself to get through it I enjoyed it very much, I loved the end chapter about Genya and it didn’t traumatize me which I always enjoy when I’m reading
I actually liked this one better than the first book. For me Shadow and Bone was too fast paced with too much happening in too few pages and too little focus on the characters.
Yes this book was less eventful, some may even say boring but I don't think so. I loved reading about just the characters and especially how Alina and Mal feel about this whole situation. It made me feel more connected to them and the world.

WOW! I loved this book. Personally I thought this one was a better read than the first book, I found the character's more believable, and found myself rooting for them and attached to them in a way I hadn't been in the first book. Romance once again was a big theme in the story but this time it added to the story rather than being the story. The introduction of more fantasy creatures added to the uniqueness of the world. I really loved this book and I can't wait to read the third book and accompany Alina on yet another journey.
