This was really boring but the ending was good

I loved this book a lot more than the first one! Nikolai might be my new favorite character and Alina is SOOOOO annoying. I know she's supposed to be the main character of the book and I get that girl is going through everything but she's so UNLIKEABLE.

ms bardugo absolutely FUMBLED after the first book.

Easy read and flew through it. Did not find myself connecting with the main characters as much in this book but enjoyed some of the side characters. Introduces some interesting themes around growing power but doesn’t always follow through with them as well as she could. While the new threat and the ending were interesting mostly relied on the world and magic that were already established in book one.

“Why won’t you leave me alone?”

“Then I’d be alone too.”

Totally here for Nikolai! But this was more repetitive than the first book and I disliked Mal a lot in this book.

O Maly é chato e quando junta a insegurança da Alina fica quase insuportável eles dois juntos, literalmente estou lendo para saber mais do Darkling, Nikolai e para ler Six of Crowns sabendo mais sobre o Grishaverse.

"Siege and Storm" is the second installment in Leigh Bardugo's Grishaverse series, following the story of Alina Starkov and her journey as the Sun Summoner. The book continues the story from where "Shadow and Bone" left off and introduces new characters and challenges to the mix.

Overall, "Siege and Storm" is a strong continuation of the series, with Bardugo's signature style of world-building and character development. The introduction of new characters, such as the pirate privateer Sturmhond and the Squaller twins Tolya and Tamar, adds depth and complexity to the story.

One of the strengths of this book is the exploration of Alina's character and her struggle with power and identity. Alina becomes more conflicted as she realizes the extent of her abilities and the expectations placed upon her as the Sun Summoner. Her relationship with the Darkling also becomes more complicated, and their interactions add a layer of tension and intrigue to the story.

The pacing in "Siege and Storm" is much better than in the first book, with more action and adventure and less exposition. The book is fast-paced and exciting, with several thrilling scenes that keep the reader engaged.

However, some readers may find the love triangle between Alina, the Darkling, and Mal to be tiresome and repetitive. Additionally, some of the supporting characters, such as the Grisha in Alina's army, are not as well-developed as they could be.

In conclusion, "Siege and Storm" is a solid addition to the Grishaverse series, with well-written characters, an intriguing plot, and exciting action scenes. While it may not be without its flaws, it is a must-read for fans of the genre and sets up the stage for the final book in the trilogy.
