I read about the Connor family first, so I spoiled it for myself and saw that Sebastian and Ava were married. But the thing is, is that I love, love story’s. Sebastian is the CEO of a billion-dollar enterprise. He runs the daily operations of a jewelry business in San Francisco. With a new line set to launch in a few months, him and his brother have set out to hire a new marketing consultant. Ava works for a consulting company in New York that sends her all over the globe. When she lands the project at Bennett enterprises, she vows that she will not lust after the CEO. Well that flounders when Sebastian is the charming and respectable man that his mom raised him to be. Despite the fact that Ava was exceptionally cautious, these two had a burning, passionate, slow build. Even though the touches and looks they shared were innocent, it did nothing to dull that spark between them. I completely understand Ava’s hesitancy as to why her and Sebastian were a bad idea. What was spoken on about client employee relationships would push anyone from wanting to pursue a short-term fling. Although I do believe that clause in her contract should have stated that as long as the fling was consensual it would have no long-term effects on her job. Ava’s boss Dirk sounded like a drill sergeant and it gave me immense satisfaction to see her land safely on her feet. Ava and Sebastian’s relationship was built fully on trust, honesty, and communication. They even had a solidly built friendship on top of lovers that I admired. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

3.5 Stars cute enough story. Definitely gives those feel good vibes. Enjoyed it well enough.
Sebastian Bennett has a strict rule against fraternizing with his employees. It's part of what has made his company so successful- the company he built from the ground up after his parents sold the family ranch. But he succeeded and Bennett Enterprises and their jewelry is well known. He is, in fact, not up for relationships in general. He's seen his parents' marriage work through 9 kids and wants something more like what they have than the empty promises of women after his money.
Ava Lindt doesn't care how rich Sebastian is. And while she is drawn by his looks, the hottest thing about him is how much he cares for his family. She doesn't have those types of ties to hers. Even so, her company has a rigid policy against getting into relationships with clients so her goal is to come in, help set up the marketing for the yearly Bennett Enterprises jewel show and then head on to the next contract. Getting involved with Sebastian is not on the agenda.
But the two end up getting together (all of the Bennetts seem to fall in love rather quickly after Hagen has them think that they don't want to be in a relationship; at least they don't fight it.) The last Big Misunderstanding ended up being a giant setup that was resolved with a little whimper but it was a nice kick off to a new-to-me series.

I'm a huge fan of Layla Hagen's Withering Hope. Your irresistible love was a different type of read but thoroughly enjoyable. I do enjoy an office setting for relationships and this book delivered well on that theme. There's little better than office tension, non-fraternization policies and two attracted co-workers trying to stay away from one another.
Ava was a strong, independent woman employed as a marketing consultant. I liked her, she was all about business but struggled with her immediate attraction to Sebastian. Sebastian was the CEO but I didn't find this to be a cliché situation. He was less arrogant than expected, open to being attracted to Ava and what it might bring. I found him to be very charming. Their story felt fairly fresh, interesting and the sexual tension was well written; it kept my attention. I particularly liked the back drop of the Bennett family and I can see that there are the makings of some really good future stories with these Bennett siblings.
The author provided a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

I have read two books by Layla Hagen in the last couple years and, although Withering Hope is forever my favorite by this author, I thoroughly enjoyed both! When I got a chance to read the first in her newest series, The Bennett Family, I expected no less than a great read! It is worth noting that the books in The Bennett Family series, like those in Hagen's Lost series, can be read as standalones or in order.
Your Irresistible Love is about Sebastian, a man who has created an incredibly successful business from the ground up, and Ava, the woman he has hired as his company's new marketing consultant. Ava is an independent woman working for a company with a strict no fraternization policy while Sebastian is not terribly interested in finding love, much to his family's dismay. Unfortunately for Ava and Sebastian, they are instantly attracted to each other and don't seem to be able to escape their chemistry.
I really enjoyed Ava and found her to be a fantastic, strong main character. I love it when female characters are already complete people before "the man" arrives. I also really liked Sebastian, although I had some problems with his Alpha Male antics at first, although he grew on me. Sebastian's greatest assets are his upbringing and family. These things allow him to be both confident and humble at the same time, which made for a love interest I did end up enjoying.
The romance between Ava and Sebastian was undeniably insta-love. Although I usually hate this, I was okay with it here just based on the fact that it's a standalone romance novel. I did like the forbidden romance feel that it had because of their work relationship and I really enjoyed the banter they shared. I also loved many of the other Bennets in the family who I'm sure we'll get to know more of in future installments!
Your Irresistible Love is an enjoyable, light-hearted romance that will definitely be loved by anyone who likes the genre! I would like to point out that, although this book is shelved several times as New Adult, I don't really feel like the characters fall into that age range. This is definitely adult romance. Overall, I did enjoy this and plan to continue reading Layla Hagen romance in the future!

I didn't hate it. I just didn't like it all that much. I barely managed to finish it. The characters were a little too...everything. Too perfect. Too good looking. Too rich. Too insta love. I just wasn't buying it. Not enough struggle or angst for me, and generally I am angst-light in my preferences so it's actually something for there not to be enough of it IMO.
The premise sounded good and I liked the idea that there would be a series. I like books in series. But I felt so blah about this one that 18 months on I have yet to get the next one.

A wonderful start to the series!
Ava Lindt is a marketing consultant, brought in for four months to help Bennett Enterprises with their next product launch. She's been cheated on in both of her last relationship and her job has a clause against dating in the workplace, so romance is the last thing on her mind. I loved this story and am immediately getting the next book!

Its a pretty typical romance in the way that we have this gorgeous main woman that knows what she wants and tries to resist the main man -of course drop dead gorgeous as well!- who saw her and know he wanted her right away.
The beginning of this book dragged a bit for me, the writing is clumsy, the characters where not great, especially the main guy got on my nerves quiet a bit with his overly cocky and forward way that he just seems to not care that the main woman has a lot to loose if they actually start anything.
But thankfully it all became a bit more realistic -or as realistic as this type of romance story will ever get. And the writing and characters get a lot better at around the halfway point in this book.
I really enjoyed the family dynamics in this story, it was so nice to see loving parents and sibling relationships in any book at all honestly, but especially in this type of romance.
I loved that while in many ways this romance was quiet insta-lovey, at the same time it really wasn't since it build up over a while and took its time to actually move forward.
If you are in search of a nicely written romance, with likeable characters and a wonderful family dynamics? This is defiantly a great book to pick up!
