The Angel Maker by Alex North was a wild ride—dark, twisty, and a little confusing (okay, a lot confusing at times). The vibe was creepy in a good way, and I liked the layered storytelling, but I’m still not 100% sure what happened in parts. Not my fave of his, but definitely kept me reading.

Such a rare occasion that I read a crime book that I can not guess the ending of. It was a breath of fresh air. The pivotal twists and events had me seconding guessing and rethinking and then in the end I was still wrong! The entire book had me on the edge of my seat. I definitely consider this a thriller mystery. It was a five star read and now I need to go read more titles from Alex North. This was an ARC and I’m voluntarily leaving this review.

💭 I have mixed feelings about this one. Overall, I did find the story to be interesting and it was entertaining. However, it was very slow paced and all the characters and timelines were a bit confusing. It took me a while to catch on to what was going on. I absolutely loved The Whisper Man, so in comparison, this one fell kind of flat for me.
✍️ How I rated other books by this author:
The Whisper Man- 5⭐️
The Shadows- 4⭐️

This was a brutal read. A slog. A neat idea of a trope done before but it was so convoluted and confusing that I’m not even sure if all the endings got wrapped up. There was a couple pages at the end that tried to but, again, confusing and unclear. I’m glad I read it but not one is recommend. VERY different from the previous novels which I much preferred.
