The Periodic Table of the Chemical Elements - hosted by lalu

Sc - Scandium
Did you know that the first version of a periodic table came not from Mendeleev but from the German chemist Lothar Meyer? He wrote a book containing an early version in 1864 that he revised in 1868. The Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev only began working on a periodic table in 1869. But what Mendeleev did do was to predict the properties of not yet discovered elements.
One of these elements was found in 1879 in Scandinavia and was called Scandium.
