You all know how this challenge goes: reading 26 books that start with a letter of the alphabet (with some leeway for the hardest letters). As usual, articles don't count, no matter what language you are reading in (a/an/the/etc).

This version of the challenge focuses on queer books by disabled authors. For a book to be included, it must fulfill both of these conditions:
- an LGBTQIA pov character or queer themes throughout the entire story (this is not limited to romances, aromantic and single people exist, but I am excluding books with only minor queer side characters and no commentary or exploration of queerness)
- by an author who has openly talked about being disabled (any physical and mental disabilities, neurodivergent experiences, etc.) (this means you can easily find that information on their website or twitter, inside their books or in an interview/blog post. This is not about forcing people to go public with that information but lifting the voices up who have been outspoken about it.)

Please note that it is not necessary for either category to be #ownvoices (meaning the main character and the author share the same queer/disabled experience) - while you will find that many authors do decide to write about their own disabilities, it's not a requirement. And obviously, the LGBTQIA part only pertains to the book, not the author.

So far, this list is heavily skewed towards autistic authors and authors with anxiety and/or depression.
While I've often added several books per author, checking out their entire backlist for something you might be interested in, is a smart move.

For some more resources, here are a few for your perusal (keep in mind that most of these focus on something other than queerness as it's much easier picking those out of other lists): this list of disabled 2023 releases hosted by disabled blogger Heather, the IG series #SickInLoveRecs by boom.books (Kelleen) and dogbuttsandbooks (Grace), and another list of Corey's favourite queer disabled romances.
and of course endless Goodreads lists: #ownvoices autism fiction, 2023 disability releases, 2024 disability releases, disabled own voices books, Disabled Latine Main Characters, Romance with Queer Black MCs, 2024 LGBTQIA+ Books and many more
