I feel like with some editing, this duology could have been a stand alone and I think I would have liked it better that way. I think this was too long. And I have a lot of thoughts but I feel like there were creative things that could have happened that didn't and most everything I found obvious and predictable. I found there to be inconsistencies too at least to my understanding of the story. Maybe I missed something but

I thought that when they destroyed the deck all the cards would stop working. And that didn't happen. It also doesn't make sense they were able to infect/sacrifice hauth if he was using the maiden card and it wasn't the one they destroyed.

idk I think with some editing this could have been a great standalone cuz a lot of the concepts were clever but it just didn't land for me
