wow. I loved this book beyond. It is in my top 5 reads of this year for sure! Halfway through I was getting a little wary of my love for it because Saffy being the detective on his trail after being in foster care with him as a child was a bit much for me. BUT that was crucial to his story and the whole thing was redeemed enough in the end for me that I gave this an easy five stars. Be warned that it is a very visceral, emotional read. Particularly if you are someone who is opposed to the death penalty Very nuanced and a ton of wisdom/insight/importance to be found within the story!
