This is an absolutely incredible book, definitely one of my favorites this year. I love how this book centers the women’s perspectives and how their lives were shaped and molded by tragedy. In doing so, it’s criticisms of true crime content is delivered so powerfully. I particular loved Saff’s perspectives but all the women featured in this book were so well done.

I absolutely loved the way that every character is given the depth that they deserve, including Ansel. The narratives were so thoughtful, and the exploration of grief and love was incredible. I also really really loved the way that this book tackled themes of victimhood, misogyny, trauma, and healing.

I would definitely check the content warnings before reading but honestly this book is incredible.
