Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy by David D. Burns
5.0
I cannot stress enough how much this book has changed my life. I lived with constant anxiety and depressive episodes all my life, since kindergarten. Reading this manual made me take a hard look at my life and improved its quality significantly. It truly helped. I was always drawn to psychology but I’m still a very skeptical person who needs scientific data to believe things. This book is the real deal.
40 years after Dr. Burns wrote the cognitive behavioral therapy manual that is “Feeling Good”, his methods are approved and tried, making CBT the leading therapy for anxiety and depression.
I see dr. Burns as my psychiatrist and therapist. He dedicated his life to therapy and saving people’s lives. He is treating homeless people for free and allowing his depression test and all his knowledge to be used and read by everyone, therapists, colleagues and patients alike.
I listened to his podcasts the bigger part of last year and he gave me solace and a sense of inner peace during a global health crisis that is COVID-19.
All I can say is thank you. This book is always with me wherever I go.
