I did not know the author was problematic before starting this book. I do not agree with his actions/opinions (lesbophobia, etc). I will only be reviewing the actual book and it's contents.
I am a bit disappointed with the story. It's not horrible, but it definitely was not what I expected. The pacing was off, especially at the end. There were problems with some character development and it seemed like there were too many issues that wanted to be discussed and solved all throughout the book and didn't really get solved. In my opinion, it would've been a lot better if the pov was split between the 2 mcs. A lot of the other characters besides the primary mc seemed to be very 2 dimensional and hard to connect with.
