The One

Wish I could say I was happy to wrap this series up, but I felt like this one drug me along for the ride at one of those cheap carnivals thrown up in a mall parking lot.
I truly wanted to be invested in this book and love it like I did the first one, but there were so many missing pieces. I felt Hunger Games vibes with the rebels situation but without the background and build up needed to be successful. I felt America wanting to be like Katniss and be strong and brave but conflicted just like Katniss was, but really it just fell flat. It felt like she was more whiny than brave, and more scared than smart.
I am glad that Maxon made the right choice, but at the cost of losing so many people for him to wake up and see the light. No real closure with a lot of the characters, and ultimately just feel sad I didn’t get the “fairy tale” ending I was hoping for.
