I honestly cannot understand why this book is rated as low at is on here. The writing was awesome and made me squirm at several moments from the descriptions of tight spaces Gyre had to navigate herself through. I found myself holding my breath at moments from the details that were offered during the dives and some of the climbs. As the book progresses the narrator becomes unreliable due to the stress she is under and really helps build the tension in the book as we get to the end. Overall, I thought the book was great and would absolutely LOVE to see a movie made of it one day. It kind of reminds me of the movie The Descent but with only one person climbing whose only contact is above ground… too good!
