The Soulmate Equation by Christina Lauren

4.0

**I won this free ARC through a Goodreads Giveaways drawing, and in return, I am offering an honest review**

Jess is the single mother of an adorable 7 year old daughter, and with all the responsibilities she has, she has little time for things like dating. But, ignoring her reluctance, her friend, 'Fizzy', an author of romance novels, ropes her into trying a new matchmaking app. One that matches people based on "proprietary genetic profiling technology", and was created and developed by the hot, grumpy guy who frequents the coffee shop they both hang at.

Her "spit test" results in an unusually high rated match with River, the above mentioned hot, grumpy guy. Although, they don't really seem to like each other too much at first, they do agree to date some and get to know each other, at least until after the official launch of the app. And because Jess is so busy with all her many obligations, and this unusually high match is very good publicity for the company, River and his partners offer to monetarily compensate her for her time. Of course, this leads to Jess feeling like they're not really dating, and any interest River shows in her, she isn't sure she can trust as genuine.

This is a really cute and sweet story. I especially loved Juno, Jess' seven-year-old daughter. She was clever and inquisitive, and I seriously enjoyed her interactions with River. I give this a solid 4.5 stars, and recommend it to everyone who reads romance.
