The first book was good, this book was better.
This duo-logy should be the standard for all well written books.
The first book was plot, introduction to characters, and history. The second book was entirely action from beginning to end and I could not put it down.
The characters were well thought out and intricate. Their bonds and emotional attachments were well written and the banter between them was easily some of my favorite.
The villain in these books was written so well, I absolutely loathed him to my core, as you should with a villain. His commentary towards Ione was some of the most brutal and iconic lines and I heavily highlighted my favorites.
Speaking of Ione, her arc and romantic plot line vastly overshadowed the MFC's romantic plot and i'm not mad about it at all. I loved watching her story envelop.
Elspeth's relationship with the nightmare and their overall story with their interwoven magic was well written with a very satisfying ending.

I left this book wanting more but also knowing that the story ended in the best possible way.
Which is my favorite way to leave any good book.
I cannot wait to read more from this author in the future.
