American Royals by Katharine McGee

I typically don’t write reviews but since people have jumped on a DNR bandwagon to judge this book before being published, I felt the need to. Wonderfully told alternate history romance novel. Well-researched and honors the brutal and tragic history of the US’s founding. The author doesn’t shy away or glaze over our mistakes as a country, but rather reimagines what might have happened if Washington was handed a crown rather than a presidency while promoting a America with female leadership. Those who took the time to read the novel, would note that the author addresses many of the concerns fake-reviewers whined about.

If I have any complaints, it’s that the romance was a little cheesy and predictable. But I’m still giving it a 5 stars because I feel the need to combat all those DNR ratings.

Side-note: stop reviewing books you haven’t read. You look ridiculous and loose all credibility. Writing is an art and what you’re promoting is censorship.
