Damn, I'm sad I didn't love this one. It just seemed a little all over the place. The characters were all struggling which was interesting to read through but the plot was just not engaging enough for me. I enjoyed the conflict within Reid about magic but this got a little annoying the longer it went on. The main conflict at the climax of the novel.....I just didn't care about the character it involved. Gods, goddesses, werewolves, mermaids....everything is just throw together and the world doesn't feel very fleshed out despite all of these individual elements. It is a shame because I loved these characters and the romance in the first book but it didn't land for me in this one. I probably will still continue with the series when Gods and Monsters is released but, it won't be a favourite anytime soon I'm afraid.
