I don’t know why but I have just been loving every fantasy book lately.  And this one was no exception.  The characters were written so well, and even in just one book, I felt that I got a good sense of all of them.  The plot was chefs kiss amazing, and by the end, I literally did not want to go to bed, just so I could finish it.  While not the focus of the book, the romance was great as well, and I felt a lot of chemistry between the characters.

The main characters were all so fun to read about, and I really enjoyed figuring out all of their motives.  Their backstories fascinated me and I just wanted to keep learning all about them.  I think the author did a great job of portraying grief, love, and friendships in different ways.  Showing that everyone experiences and walks through life differently.

The plot was just so well done.  Seriously, I was constantly blown away by how everything fell into place and by all the secrets revealed.  I do wish the ending was just a tad longer, but I still got everything out of it that I wanted.

The romance is definitely a side plot in the book, but I think it was still well developed.
