(VERY LIGHT SPOILER WARNING)

A surprisingly touching read - although an emotional turn involving the protagonist's buried trauma is moved through so quickly that it verges on the unbelievable. I am torn between wishing the world was fleshed out a little more and liking its rather skimmed-over (but naturally so) details. Perhaps this is gone over more thoroughly in Annex, the author's other book? The brother stuff hits home, personally, but what I liked the most was the sequence with Yorick and his squad-mates high on Hyena, a company drug that facilitates group-bonding between soldiers in order to increase efficiency during hunting/combat. Neat stuff.
