a story set in prague, as the title suggests. prague is in danger of being taken over by pijavice - vampires. domek is a lamplighter, which means his job is to keep pijavice from taking over prague. he's accompanied by lady ora fischerová, who is a pijavica herself.
absolutely loved the atmosphere of this book. the author's style is super descriptive in a way i very much enjoy. i really appreciated the details about prague and the spirits domek deals with. the plot is pretty much excellent with pacing that i personally liked. the split pov between ora and domek was a good choice honestly.
really enjoyed the characters as well! domek was super charming and i like his dynamic with fischerová. she was such an amazing lead character as well, a super strong person who truly complements domek. personally, i'm a fan of their romance. i also liked how the author acknowledged the fact that fischerová is bi, and didn't take away from it at any point. i also thought kája was charming and super fun, i wish he was more involved somehow, though that doesn't take away from the quality of the book.
overall, i really really enjoyed this! i expected to enjoy a book about vampires and other creatures in prague, and i was so right.
