American Royals by Katharine McGee
5.0

This book is DELIGHTFUL! American Royals is filled with all the drama and intrigue you could ever want. However, the character development leaves much to be desired (will Sam always be so whiny?), as well as the writing itself (yes, it’s a tad predictable).

Don’t go into this expecting a grand alternate-historical fiction. It’s not that at all—it’s a fun, soapy novel focusing on a dramatic cast of royalty, as the POV switches between four young women stuck in the web of royal drama. It’s not the best YA novel ever written, but if you focus on the story, it’s worth the ride.
