This book was so cute. As someone who majored in biotechnology, the idea of basing love off of genetics is an interesting theory. It did cause me to think pretty deeply about nature vs nurture. But even if it's science fiction, it's an interesting thought experiment.

I loved Jess both as an individual and as mother. I felt like she was a really well fleshed out character with a past that explained a lot of her character traits. Compared to her,  River kind of felt like a man prop.

The build up of the romance was really cute. The spice wasn't for me and I found the making out in public and for a crowd thing kind of weird. I'm all for PDA, when I know the person. But my firsts will always be in private.

Overall very excited to read the next book next month.
