Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim

5.0

Six Crimson Cranes is an East Asian fantasy novel about a banished princess forbidden from speaking about her past, while her six brothers are turned into cranes. The world building is excellently executed and includes vivid scenes of dragons, cranes, and magical objects. Lim could have plotted the novel in a predictable way but instead made the story dynamic and interesting. The prose is direct and clear, and the slow-burn romance of the story is cute. Six Crimson Cranes is a creative and fun fairy tale adventure.
