As Long as the Lemon Trees Grow by Zoulfa Katouh

5.0

“Syria was once the centre of the world. Interventions and discoveries were made here; they built the world. Our history is in Al-Zahrawi palace, in our mosques, in our earth.”

This book will provide you both the tears and warmth. It’s a rare gem in today’s world.
Author beautifully narrates the story of Syria and its people.
The civil war within Syria drawn to attention and it make you wonder that how privileged some people are who don’t have to think twice before leaving home that either they’ll end up dead after getting some sniper shot or hit by bomb.

Apart from all the gruesome things that this book holds for the reader to know, there’s this halal love story of two people which shed light in the darkest of times.
I love the style of the book. And I love this book in all its entirety.
