It Didn't Start with You: How Inherited Family Trauma Shapes Who We Are and How to End the Cycle by Mark Wolynn

1.0

Victim blaming galore.

Say it with me, it is NOT your sole responsibility to repair bonds you did not break. Also, trauma explains behavior, but it does NOT excuse it. When possible we should try and forgive, but parents need to be held accountable for their shite behavior.

I found many of the theories presented in this book to be REACHING. I feel like the author took the concept of generational trauma and just ran with it in all sorts of wild directions.
