I absolutely believe this would have worked better as a comic or a few novellas put together

It's a wonderful book for queer teens but personally it misses a lot of its own attempts and muddles its own story bc of how rushed it is

The themes should have resonated with me heavily but Benji as the main characters didn't really do it for me (in return I've enjoyed the other pov chapters by far more)
It is also a mix of its not so perfect pacing and the plot being thrown around quite a bit (which is absolutely fine the story is more about mc's growth than the plot but the story doesn't really manage to tether the line)
It also feels like many parts of the book were chopped off
Storylines and characters are mentioned and then never seen again which makes one wonder if it is motivated my social justice-y reasons or a genuine lack of pages
Or are simply a result of not thorough world and character building

Some imagery is beautiful though

the alc is fine in the end and so is the book
