Jubilee: Recipes from Two Centuries of African American Cooking: A Cookbook by Toni Tipton-Martin

4.0

Great overview of African American cooking. Some of these recipes are, actually, in other cookbooks I own, but as an anthology this holds up (plus the historical recipes are also interesting to read & make). I had a few problems with the cooking times through out the dishes I made, hence the four instead of five stars. The flavors are great, and there are recipes that work for busy nights as well as recipes for nights were one has time on their hands to try new more complicated things. It seemed like a slight majority of the recipes in this are also vegetarian, for people who are looking to have less meat in their diet.
