What's Cooking in the Kremlin: From Rasputin to Putin, How Russia Built an Empire with a Knife and Fork by Witold Szabłowski

5.0

THIS BOOK. This book!!!
Please understand this is a unique combination of several of my exact interests: Russian history, food, Chernobyl, and the inescapable ordinariness that exists in the lives of even the most extraordinarily larger than life humans, but this book was just very very much for me. So so sad, funny, heartbreaking, terrifying, sobering, fascinating. I learned so much. Damn. What a read.
The world we live through is something else, and yet still. We cook.
