American Royals
by Katharine McGee
When I was recommending this book to my friend, Sarah, I described it as “Pretty Little Liars” meets Netflix’s “The Crown”, and honestly the more I think about it, the more apt that I find that description.
This book immediately pulled me into the unlikely “what if” the US had crowned George Washington king, and thoroughly and wonderfully entertaining. And as far as YA fiction about a royal family goes, the use of titles and actual historical precedent was very accurate. (My only concern is how can a future duke be eligible to marry a future queen?)
But I digress, American Royals is such an entertaining read.
