I just couldn't get into the story.

Especially because the second book was so far away from the original ship and all. The fact that most of them were separated was adding to this. It missed their dynamic. Luckily we did get some of it at the end but it felt too short and rush. The idea is interesting but is felt so flat? I don't know how to explain it.
