Meh, I did not like this one. Maybe because it was supposed to be a modern retelling of Jane Eyre and that is a top 10 book for me, but this just fell flat in every way. The JE references were seriously heavy-handed and clumsy, but also somehow head-scratchers. The big twist at the end was unexciting and expected. Not good as a thriller, not good as a JE story. And how dare you call Edward Rochester “Eddie.” Boo!

The one good thing? Thanks to this book, I’m now jonesing for a reread of JE.
